Every fall, the team from CF Evans gathers together to celebrate the wins of the last year, learn from each other, and recognize employees who went above and beyond. This past Friday, we met at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC for a morning of learning, updates, and togetherness.
Employees heard from Johnny Evans, Executive Chairman, who discussed the current state of the company, our history, and the recent transition and promotion of David Summers as President of CF Evans. Summers spoke about his goals and vision for our company moving forward, themes that were echoed throughout the day by all speakers, including John Barr (EVP, Corporate Development) and his team as they strive for operational excellence, Janet Bates (Director of Marketing & Business Development) who emphasized the relationship between our employees and successful business development, and our VP of Human Resources who discussed the new training programs he will be implementing in 2019. Our Director of Construction and Senior Project Managers updated the crowd on our projects and recognized their teams for the hard work and effort they have put in over the last year, and after a delicious lunch, six employees were recognized for their commitment to our company core values:
Dedication – Andy Udinsky (Project Manager)
Integrity – DJ Mitchell (Assistant Superintendent)
Teamwork – Justin Porter (Superintendent)
Respect – Rob Marino (Assistant Superintendent)
Partner Relationships – Ryan Igo (Construction Technology)
Accountability – Debbie Hokanson (Construction Administrator)
CF Evans also recognizes the employee who has had a stellar record in safety and works tirelessly to ensure that safety is a state of mind. This year’s Champion of Safety award went to Tyler Brogdon (Assistant Superintendent).
Lastly, the employee who most embodies the ideals and values of our customer service program is awarded the Clarence F. Evans Experience Award, named after our founder. Joel Heuring, Senior Project Manager, was awarded this honor for 2018.
“As our employees all work in different locations, this meeting is our favorite time of year,” Summers said. “It’s a chance for us to come together, get to know each other better, share quality information, and return to our work reenergized and focused on our company’s goals.”
